The AfriForum neighbourhood watches in die northern region, which includes Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga, participated in a national patrol on Friday, 6 April 2018.

During this patrol, 30 AfriForum neighbourhood watches and 852 patrollers participated in 499 vehicles. Altogether, the patrollers travelled 31 230 km, while 46 incidents were successfully addressed in cooperation with the SAPS.

112 other security institutions joined AfriForum in the patrol, among other CPFs, security forms, the SAPS and other private neighbourhood watches.

“AfriForum launched this national patrol to promote visibility and cooperation, and to ensure the safety of our communities,” says Hillel Coetzer, AfriForum’s Regional Safety Coordinator for the northern region.

“AfriForum encourages communities to get involved in starting to prioritise their safety themselves. We cannot count on Government alone for our safety. Join any local safety institution in your area or join AfriForum today and become part of the solution,” concludes Coetzer.
