AFRIFORUM NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH PROVIDES SUPPORT TO HERMANUS FIRE DEPARTMENT WITH DRONE
On 25 March 2021 AfriForum’s Alfa neighbourhood watch that forms part of the Overstrand branch assisted the Hermanus fire department in bringing a fire under control after arsonists started a fire in Sandbaai.
The fire department contacted AfriForum’s Alfa neighbourhood watch to assist them in providing light with their drone to get a better overall view of the situation from the sky. This enabled the fire department to put the fire out successfully.
“A word of sincere thanks to everyone who played a role in bringing the fire under control and thus preventing damage to various residents’ houses. We will continue to work with other organisations and provide assistance where necessary,” says Lourens Theron, leader of AfriForum’s Alfa neighbourhood watch.
