AfriForum neighbourhood watches in Lowveld district take part in national patrol

On Friday, 19 October 2018 the AfriForum neighbourhood watches in the Lowveld district – Lydenburg, Machadodorp, Middelburg, Nelspruit and White River – took part in a national patrol in conjunction with other organisations.

More than 150 patrollers covered 3 500 km in approximately 70 vehicles.

Other participants included Nelspruit Concerned Citizens, community policing forums (CPFs) and other private security firms. Solidarity Helping Hand’s Middelburg branch provided dinner for the patrollers.

“The excellent cooperation between AfriForum’s neighbourhood watches and other organisations is the epitome of teamwork and people who are trying to solve problems in our country. AfriForum launches these national patrols throughout the country to ensure improved visibility and safety in our communities,” says Hennie Bekker, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the Lowveld.
