AfriForum undertakes tour through Hartswater for awareness of poor infrastructure
The local AfriForum branch in Hartswater invites the media to attend a tour through the town to see first-hand what the biggest and most urgent infrastructure problems are.
After this, the branch will hand over a petition along with an application in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA), 2000 (Act No. 2 of 2000) to the municipal manager of the Phokwane Local Municipality.
The petition requests among other things that the Municipality:
- gives heed to public participation;
- undertakes comprehensive impact studies;
- brings current service delivery up to standard; and
- repairs infrastructure where needed.
