AfriForum Youth: No reason why contact classes cannot be resumed

AfriForum Youth demands that all contact classes be resumed at public universities. Since April this year, the organisation has been in contact with all 25 public universities to determine their adapted policy on campus-based education as many universities have replaced it with online classes during the Covid-19 pandemic. AfriForum Youth is delighted by the feedback that indicates that most universities want to resume contact classes in full by the end of the year to offer quality education to students.

Now that all Covid-19 regulations have been suspended, AfriForum Youth expects that their demand of 20 April 2022 that contact classes be resumed immediately will be complied with soon.

“In cases where lecturers now avoid campus-based education, it is contrary to the new health regulations and universities’ policies. AfriForum Youth will not hesitate to consider legal action in cases where students are deprived of quality education,” says René van der Vyver, spokesperson for AfriForum Youth.

If students are still obliged to receive online classes, even though they pay for contact classes, they can sign AfriForum Youth’s petition by clicking on this link.
