Who and what is AfriForum?

AfriForum is an Afrikaans civil rights organisation that protects the rights of minority groups at national as well as provincial level, and anyone who can identify with AfriForum’s principles and objectives may join the organisation. AfriForum’s community plan focuses on mobilising communities to thus take control of their own streets and neighbourhoods again. AfriForum’s Benoni branch donates hand sanitiser and face masks

The AfriForum branch in Benoni donated hand sanitiser and face masks to the community on 18 April 2020 to help protect them against COVID-19. 80 bottles hand sanitiser were donated Bad Boyz Security, PHP/Mamba Security and ER24.

This follows after the civil rights organisation launched a national project over the past two weeks during which 15 000 bottles hand sanitiser were donated to various police stations, emergency services and old-age homes. AfriForum distributed a further 4 000 bottles hand sanitiser and 3 200 face masks on 15 April 2020 to its 53 branches in the northern region to support communities.

“It is important that we as a community take hands and support each other during the lockdown,” says Stephanus (Butch) Blignault, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the East Rand.
