AFRIFORUM’S BOKSBURG NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH RECEIVES TRAINING

Members of AfriForum’s Boksburg neighbourhood watch received Level 1 first aid training on 19 June 2021. The training was given to four of AfriForum’s neighbourhood watch members by a local security company. This is the first of several training sessions that are planned for the future.

This training is a good example of how community structures are expanding and growing self-sufficiently. AfriForum tries to offer or attend as many training sessions as possible in the community in order to equip volunteers with skills to handle every situation professionally and within the framework of the law, to contribute to a safer community.

“AfriForum regards it as important for neighbourhood watch and branch members to receive this type of training, in order for communities to work together and develop to build a better future,” says Dewet Ungerer, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the East Rand.
