AfriForum’s Germiston branch donates personal protective equipment to Kowa Pienaar Home

The AfriForum branch in Germiston donated personal protective equipment to the Kowa Pienaar Home after the home reported a large number of COVID-19 cases during the past few weeks. The branch donated 500 pairs of gloves, 300 aprons, 35 litres of hand sanitiser, and vitamin supplements to the home.

According to dr Eugene Brink, AfriForum’s Manager for Health Affairs, Gauteng has seen a sharp increase in the number of cases. “Older people are more at risk and we want to ensure that they as well as the people looking after them are safe, healthy and cared for.”

“COVID-19 brings many challenges to the community, and especially in times like these we have to look after our senior citizens,” says Stephanus (Butch) Blignault, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the East Rand.

AfriForum urges communities to regularly visit the organisation’s Facebook page for the latest information on COVID-19.
