AfriForum’s Roodepoort branch holds mass patrol

AfriForum’s branch in Roodepoort held its monthly crime-preventive mass patrol on 21 August.

The patrol, which comprised a record number of 165 participating members, promises to draw even more participants in the coming months to help protect the community. It was also the largest patrol in recent months.

“Crime-preventive patrols like this one can only be successful if the whole community do their part. It is a privilege to say that this is indeed the case here in Roodepoort. A special word of thanks goes to Carika van Loggerenberg and DK of Blackhawk Risk Intelligence, who organised this large project and ensured its success,” says Dewet Ungerer, District Coordinator for the West Rand.

Role-players who participated in the patrol include ER24, Commed, Help24, the community policing forums in Honeydew, Sophiatown, Albertsville, Fairlands and FNQC, BCI Security, APCAN Security, National Security, Tau Security, SRT Security, EC Security, Scpsl Security, CCJ Security, Delta Tactical, Emergency Control SA, ICE Community Policing and Black Hawk  Risk Intelligence.

Various hotspots in the community were also visited, and no serious cases were reported during the patrol.
