AfriForum’s Springs branch donates hand sanitiser and face masks

The AfriForum branch in Springs donated hand sanitiser and face masks to the community on 18 April 2020 to help protect them from contracting COVID-19. A total of 64 bottles hand sanitiser was donated to the ESDA Frail Care Unit and Rus-’n-Bietjie Old Age Home.

This follows after the civil rights organisation launched a national project over the past two weeks during which 15 000 bottles hand sanitiser were donated to various police stations, emergency services and old-age homes. AfriForum distributed a further 4 000 bottles hand sanitiser and 3 200 face masks on 15 April 2020 to its 53 branches in the northern region to support communities.

“It is important for us as a community to take hands and support each other during the lockdown,” says Stephanus (Butch) Blignault, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the East Rand.

AfriForum is making an appeal to communities to regularly visit the organisation’s Facebook page to get the latest information about the nationwide lockdown and COVID-19.
