This diagram shows the course of an action process in the South African courts. AfriForum sued the President and Minister of Health on 18 February 2026. The case is currently ongoing.

Verdict No settlement Parties reach a settlement. Settlement is made a court order and the case is over. Pre-trial phase: Parties meet and discuss issues and possible settlement. Parties reach a settlement. Settlement is made a court order and the case is over. No settlement Pleading phase is closed. Pleading will be served within five court days. Defendant fails to file pleading. Notice that pleading must be served within five court days. Defendant still fails to deliver pleading. AfriForum apples default judgment.
