KwaZulu-Natal’s AfriForum structures participate in national mass patrol

AfriForum’s safety structures in Pongola and Paulpietersburg in cooperation with many other safety institutions in Port Edward, Munster, Palm Beach, Leisure Bay, Trafalgar, Marina Beach, Southbroom, Ramsgate, Margate, Manaba, Uvongo, St. Michaels, Shelly Beach, Oslo Beach, Port Shepstone, Umtentweni, South Port, Hibberdene, Mtwalume, Sea Park, Ifafa Beach, Banana Beach, Anerley, Sunwich Port, Pumula, Woodgrange, Vryheid, Utrecht, Winterton, Magudu and the South African Police Service (SAPS) participated in the civil rights watchdog’s national mass patrol on 4 August 2017.

Several kilometres were covered in the respective towns where patrols took place, while altogether 398 patrollers in 237 vehicles successfully handled various incidents.

“We received excellent support from the SAPS on provincial and station level. Some police stations even contacted AfriForum to enquire where and with whom they can make contact for their specific commanding region to participate,” says Eugene van Aswegen, AfriForum’s Provincial Coordinator for KwaZulu-Natal.
