AfriForum’s Greater Moot neighbourhood team not afraid of work

AfriForum’s Greater Moot neighbourhood team spent 156 man-hours on the bush cutters and 132 man-hours with chainsaws to get the Moot clean and tidy in June.

The neighbourhood team also carried out renovations to their information network where two poles were painted. They are also erecting a new pole. Furthermore, all AfriForum’s emergency water points in the area were visited – the water was circulated to ensure that the water and the tanks remain clean. The neighbourhood team put out a fire at the corner of Ben Swart Street and 21st Avenue in Villeria and started trimming the spruit’s trees with a focus on trees that damage the infrastructure.

During June, AfriForum’s Greater Moot neighbourhood watch did not sit still either and drove 1,331,91 km and 151,47 hours during 108 patrols.

“The branch is dedicated to promoting a cleaner and healthier environment for our community. We are delighted with the success these projects have achieved so far. We believe that this will have a positive impact on the aesthetic value of the Moot and that it will also positively affect the overall well-being of our residents,” says Sampie Steinberg, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for Greater Pretoria North.
