AfriForum’s #YourTown campaign: Westonaria branch applies unceasing pressure
AfriForum’s Westonaria branch eventually achieved success on 22 October 2018 because of continuous pressure on the Rand West City Local Municipality: The Municipality made various equipment available to its employees to clean up polluted suburbs and streets.
It was a drawn-out process; the Municipality took almost two years to react to the branch’s requests. “After numerous telephone calls, complaints and weekly visits to the Rand West City Local Municipality about poor service delivery in Westonaria, continuous pressure was definitely the answer,” says Esther Swart, Chairperson of the Westonaria branch.
