Mining activities on the Eastern Cape coast

Do you like a holiday at the sea, or do you care for our coast’s natural beauty? Your favourite holiday destination may very well look a lot different one of these days of Total gets its way.

SLR Consulting is applying on behalf of the Total Brulpadda project to drill 11 holes for exploration purposes on the coast between Cape St. Francis and en Mossel Bay. This area is essential to marine biodiversity on our coast, and these is a protected marine area just south of the planned prospection area. Register as soon as possible as an interested and affected party (IAP) with Candice at csadan@slrconsulting.com. If possible, also submit your commentary against the application by no later than 21 August 2020. There was also virtual meeting on 16 July. The concept scoping report is available for public input on SLR Consulting’s website at https://slrconsulting.com/za/slr-documents/tepsa11b12b.
