Neither cold nor darkness can stop Benoni branch from repairing potholes

Almost nothing can stop AfriForum’s Benoni branch from repairing potholes in the area – not even when the sun goes down and the cold descends. The branch braved the freezing temperatures last week to fill enormous potholes in the area. The team used a total of 1,25 tonnes of tar to repair 16 large potholes in Hartshorne, Reid, Honiball and Clarke street.

“We know that well-maintained roads are essential for the safety of the community, which is why this branch braved the cold to ensure that these potholes were filled,” says Jurie Ferreira, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the East Rand. “This is yet another example of what can be done when communities work together to make a difference.”

Ferreira says it is only through the support and active participation of AfriForum’s members that this branch is able to make such significant contributions to the area. “We encourage the community to become part of AfriForum’s Benoni branch and work together to make even more projects like this possible. We will continue to serve our communities and launch the necessary projects to ensure a better future for everyone,” adds Ferreira.
