AfriForum neighbourhood watches in Limpopo participate in national patrol

AfriForum’s neighbourhood watches in Nylstroom, Warm Baths, Tzaneen and Ellisras participated in AfriForum’s mass patrol in their respective areas on Friday, 20 July 2018 in cooperation with the SAPS, community policing forums, various security firms and other safety institutions.

During the patrol, 106 patrollers from these AfriForum neighbourhood watches travelled 3 400 km in 53 vehicles and resolved 20 incidents successfully in cooperation with the SAPS.

“AfriForum launches national patrols to improve visibility and cooperation, and to ensure the safety of our communities,” says Jaco Grobbelaar, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for Limpopo.

AfriForum encourages communities to become involved and to priorities their safety themselves.

“We cannot rely on the state alone to take care of our safety. Join any local safety institution in your area or join AfriForum today and become part of the solution,” Grobbelaar concludes.
