AfriForum’s Germiston neighbourhood watch receives new safety equipment

AfriForum’s newly-established neighbourhood watch in Germiston received new safety equipment after the local branch identified this need because of increasing criminal activities in the area. Equipment include bullet-proof vests, reflector jackets, vehicle magnets and radios.

“The neighbourhood watch forms part of AfriForum’s local branch structure and is aimed at supporting the community in cooperation with the SAPS in case of emergencies.  Safety equipment is of immeasurable value for any safety structure. The neighbourhood watch will in future launch various actions and patrols in cooperation with other safety structures to help curb criminal activities,” says Thabo Moloy, Chairperson for Safety of AfriForum’s Germiston branch.

“We encourage the community to join the local branch and neighbourhood watch. The more people involved, the greater the difference we can make,” Moloy concludes.
