AfriForum launches first full-time emergency response vehicle in Bloemfontein

The civil rights organisation AfriForum officially launched their first full-time emergency response vehicle in Bloemfontein on 9 July 2017.

This vehicle is part of the AfriForum 911 emergency service, staffed by volunteer paramedics and equipped by Netcare 911.

“The vehicle will not only be available for AfriForum members, but also for the public. This is an initiative for the community and we would like to help where possible. There will be no costs should our vehicle go out to a patient, but there will be costs should the patient need to be transported to hospital per ambulance,” says Pieter Myburg, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for Bloemfontein.

“AfriForum will continue this sort of cooperation with emergency services to deliver joint services. This vehicle is a symbol of a community that creates their own ability to not only secure, but also to help others in times of need,” concludes Myburg.
