AfriForum mourns the passing of Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi

It is with great sorrow that AfriForum received the sad tiding of the passing of Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, Inkosi of the Buthelezi traditional community and Prime Minister of the Zulu kingdom and nation.

“We pray that our Heavenly Father will comfort the Buthelezi royal family, the Buthelezi traditional community, the Zulu royal family and the Zulu nation in this difficult time. We will remember Prince Buthelezi for his integrity and commitment to find peaceful solutions to the complex coexistence challenge faced by cultural communities here at the southern tip of Africa,” says Kallie Kriel, CEO of AfriForum.

“Prince Buthelezi, a grandson of His Majesty King Dinuzulu KaCetshwayo, through his actions honoured the proud legacy of his ancestors. He acted in the interest of his cultural community whilst at the same time he strove to maintain the historically good relations that exist between the Zulu and Afrikaner cultural communities,” says Barend Uys, head of Intercultural Relations and Cooperation at AfriForum.
