AFRIFORUM’S WITRIVIER NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH UNVEILS MOBILE CONTROL ROOM

On 30 July 2021 AfriForum’s neighbourhood watch in Witrivier unveiled a new mobile control room for the neighbourhood watch during the civil rights organisation’s national mass patrol.

The control room was built into a Toyota Quantum bus bought by the AfriForum branch in Witrivier. Seats in part of the bus were removed and storage space was built in for the neighbourhood watch’s equipment. In addition there are seats for members, that are on duty, inside the bus to help with management and communication during incidents.

This bus will be deployed during any situation that permits it and will be the centre of the operations of AfriForum’s neighbourhood watch in Witrivier. All coordination will be handled by the members in the bus and account will be kept at all times of members’ behaviour on the ground to ensure that our members remain safe.

More items are needed to expand this project, among other things a television screen, communication system and electric standby system. Members are encouraged to contact Dawie Ruthven on 082 855 3507 if they are able to help.
