The AfriForum trauma unit was established in 2015, arising from the need to support victims of farm attacks and farm murders.
Request counselling
Process of the activation of an AfriForum trauma volunteer:
- Incident is reported to AfriForum’s neighbourhood watch.
- AfriForum branch chairperson/neighbourhood watch leader notifies the trauma volunteer.
- Trauma volunteers assess the situation and provide support.
- Trauma volunteer withdraws and notifies AfriForum’s safety specialist/neighbourhood watch leader/branch chairperson if there is a need for trauma counselling.
- The safety specialist/neighbourhood watch leader/branch chairperson notifies the trauma unit of the need for trauma counselling.
