Walker Drive neighbourhood watch continues to repair potholes

On 21 July, AfriForum’s Walker Drive neighbourhood watch used six bags of tar to repair two huge potholes. This branch decided to focus on Walker Drive because this road carries a lot of traffic and the tires of several cars have already been damaged by these potholes.

Since potholes are one of the many challenges in Gqeberha, the neighbourhood watch decided to repair the most hazardous potholes.

“The filling of these two potholes shows the progress we have already made in the community. We are delighted with the success of this project and the positive impact it is having on road safety and traffic flow. We are grateful for the community’s support and the involvement of various security companies such as Extreme Security and CityWide Security. We also thank Much Asphalt Gqeberha for their tar donation and Hire EC for their compactor,” says Hannes Oosthuizen, leader of the Walker Drive neighbourhood watch.

AfriForum’s Walker Drive neighbourhood watch encourages the community to join and thus help to counter municipal decay. Contact Wikus van der Walt on 066 486 7611.
