AfriForum branches in KwaZulu-Natal takes part in national patrol

During their recent national patrol, AfriForum mobilised 39 communities in KwaZulu-Natal to take part on Friday 19 October 2018 to cover a combined 14 421 km. Local communities, the South African National Defence Force and the South African Police Service (SAPS) from over the entire KwaZulu-Natal took part in this drive.

Altogether 479 volunteers with 317 vehicles completed 2 497 man-hours and safeguarded various communities. Excellent support was received from the SAPS, with 67 police members and 34 SAPS vehicles providing support to patrollers.

“We received excellent support from the SAPS – from provincial to station level. There have also already been police stations that have not yet taken part in the patrols, who contacted AfriForum to find out where and with whom they must make contact to participate in future patrols in their area,” says Eugene van Aswegen, AfriForum’s Provincial Coordinator for KwaZulu-Natal.

AfriForum wants to thank each member for their participation in the national patrol, as well as the SAPS and every private institution that took part.
