AfriForum’s Benoni branch educates learners about safety

The AfriForum branch in Benoni joined the 200% Foundation on 9 March 2020 at the Actonville Training Centre, a school for children with special needs, to educate young girls on personal hygiene, substance abuse and personal safety.

The Ekurhuleni Health Services talked about personal hygiene, the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) informed the girls about substance abuse, while the AfriForum members educated them about safety awareness and handed them distress tags. These tags have all the relevant emergency numbers listed which the girls can carry at all times.

At the end of the presentations, the girls were shown some self-defence techniques by the Bad Boyz/OPPS International team.

“AfriForum remains committed to participating in these local community projects and we would like to congratulate the 200% Foundation team for the excellent work that they do,” says Archie Mouyis, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Benoni branch.
