AfriForum’s Benoni branch plants trees at Sinethemba Hope House

The AfriForum branch in Benoni on 24 September 2020 spent its morning at Sinethemba Hope House (a local children’s home) where they assisted the children in planting five fruit trees that were donated to the home.

After a hot morning gardening and showing the children how to plant the trees correctly, the children were treated to some sweets and other treats.

The home houses 24 children and AfriForum has been actively involved with the children’s home throughout the COVID-19 lockdown, providing food as well as other essential supplies. The home was also sanitised during the lockdown to ensure the safety of the children.

“What a privilege it is to see kids smile and having fun. We have been very involved with this home and we will continue to support them where possible,” says Dean Ambrose, Project Manager at AfriForum’s Benoni branch.

AfriForum would like to thank the following businesses for their support in assisting with the tree planting project at the home this past Heritage Day: Pies N More for the sweets hampers and Flora High Nursery for the fruit trees and compost.

If you want to join this fun and exciting AfriForum branch, please send an email to afriforum.benoni@gmail.com and the branch will contact you.
