AfriForum’s Nylstroom branch repairs clogged drainage ditch

The AfriForum branch in Nylstroom repaired a clogged drainage ditch. The clogging caused stormwater to dam up in Nelson Mandela Street, the entrance road to the town just after the train bridge.

Chris Boshoff, AfriForum’s Regional Coordinator for Limpopo, says this problem presented a big safety risk to motorists, and subsequently necessitated AfriForum to intervene. In addition, there were also potholes in this road that could not be seen under the water.

“Thanks to the assistance of community members, the problem was solved speedily. The branch would like to thank the community and in particular Jaco Vosloo, an AfriForum member, who supplied a bulldozer to complete the repair work,” says Tjaart du Plessis, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Nylstroom branch.
