AfriForum’s Phalaborwa branch cleans up town

The AfriForum branch in Phalaborwa launched a clean-up action in cooperation with the Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality and the local Dutch Reformed Church on Friday, 31 March 2017. Many gardens in the area were cleaned up.

“We are paying for services that we do not receive. Continuous fights with the Municipality do not offer any solution. That is why AfriForum is so adamant about self-do actions,” says Saartjie Matthysen, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Phalaborwa branch.

AfriForum’s Phalaborwa branch started cleaning up the Post Office in Tambotie Street and then proceeded down the street. The second phase of the clean-up project will commence on Friday, 7 April 2017.

“Although this is only the start of a massive clean-up project, it has already started bearing fruit,” Matthysen concludes.
