Illegal dumping and squatters

AfriForum demands that the Tshwane Metro fulfils its obligations by getting the landfill site in Daan De Wet Nelstraat, Dorandia up to standard, and by removing the illegal squatters. This is a huge headache for residents of Pretoria North, and it is starting to have health risks and serious implications for the community.

1. Problem: Illegal dumping and squatters next to the landfill site in Daan de Wet Nel Street.
2. Cause: The Tshwane Metro is not removing refuse from the landfill site, which results in the community dumping refuse illegally next to the landfill site.

AfriForum’s Noord van die berg branch wants to put pressure on the Tshwane Metro to maintain the landfill site and open it to the public, as well as to remove the illegal squatters. That way refuse can be dumped in the landfill site instead of being dumped illegally.
