Machadodorp branch erects warning signs along the R541 route

AfriForum’s Machadodorp branch recently erected two new warning signs on the R541 route (also known as the Skurweberg Pass) to warn motorists about the poor road conditions on this route. This road, which connects eNtokozweni (Machadodorp) and eManzana (Badplaas), has been damaged due to severe landslides and sinkholes and poses a danger to motorists.

The eye-catching orange and black warning signs show a simple yet effective warning message. The branch trusts that the signs will make an important contribution to ensuring motorists’ safety on the route as the signs are clearly visible.

“We are committed to the safety of our community and everyone who travels through our town. The safety of motorists who drive this lovely pass is a priority for us and therefore raising awareness through these warning signs is an important way in which we can play a role in terms of traffic safety,” says Delon Duvenhage, vice-chairperson of AfriForum’s Machadodorp branch.

Afriforum’s Machadodorp branch is grateful for the support of the community and hopes that this initiative can serve as a model for community involvement elsewhere in the country. The branch also encourages all residents to be aware of the road conditions and to drive responsibly and safely.

AfriForum’s Machadodorp branch invites the public to become involved in their projects.
