The Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula wants motorists to pay just to make an appointment to renew a driver’s licence.
Mbalula proposed a bill that will result in motorists paying R250 just to make an appointment on an online system. This does not include the cost of renewal or the printing of a new licence card.
AfriForum has already instructed its legal team to compile comments on this preposterous plan. The public will also have the opportunity until 2 October to submit their comments.
