AfriForum’s Springs branch donates paint to Ekurhuleni Metro’s Roads Department

The AfriForum branch in Springs recently offered to help after community members requested that the road signs in Ermelo Street between Wit Road and Clydesdale should be painted again to be clearly visible. The absence of these road signs posed a danger to road users as the lanes were almost invisible.

After contact was made with the department in the Ekurhuleni Metro that is responsible for the upkeep of the roads in the Springs area, it was established that there is a shortage of paint. The Metro however assured that they will prioritise the painting of this road.

AfriForum’s Springs branch offered help and sponsored the road paint and other necessities to the Roads Department. This Department reacted immediately, and a significant amount of the painting was already completed on 6 November.

“It is always a recipe for success when the community and local municipal services work together to find solutions and make a difference in the community. The success can also be attributed to every AfriForum member in the Springs area who through their contributions enabled the Springs branch to make an impact in their own community,” says Jurie Ferreira, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the East Rand.

The Springs branch invites community members to become involved at their local AfriForum branch to become part of the solution. Visit www.wordlid.co.za.
